I became interested in Duran Duran in about 1982 and have followed them ever since. I love the catchy songs, exotic videos and the band members themselves. I’ve always found Duran Duran have been able to keep up and still put out great music. To me, they are and will always be GOAT.

The Home of Romeo and Juliet

Few places lean into romance quite like Verona, a city layered with history and myth. Yes, it’s famously the setting of Romeo and Juliet, but Verona’s real magic is older and deeper, written into its Roman streets and sun-warmed stone. At the heart of it all sits the Verona Arena, a first-century amphitheater that has hosted everything from gladiators to world-class opera — and now, Duran Duran. Seeing them play there is going to be a collision of eras— ancient architecture, modern icons, and a crowd that knows every word. If there’s a more dramatic place to hear those songs echo into the night, it’s doing a very good job hiding.

When Duran Duran return to Europe in summer 2026, they’ll be stepping onto stages carved into Roman stone, palace courtyards built for Bourbon monarchs, and lakeside piazzas where the air smells faintly of espresso and warm evening air off the water.

Verona sits in northern Italy, conveniently positioned between Milan and Venice like it knew you’d be indecisive and planned accordingly. It started as a Roman stronghold (because of course it did), then spent centuries collecting layers—medieval towers, Renaissance palaces, little piazzas that look like they were designed specifically for aperitivo. You can wander through Piazza delle Erbe pretending you’re not about to spend too much on espresso, climb up to Castel San Pietro for a view that makes you reconsider every life decision that didn’t involve moving to Italy, or do the full tourist pilgrimage to Juliet’s House—yes, it’s crowded, yes, it’s a little ridiculous, and yes, you’re still going to go. It’s that kind of city: effortlessly beautiful, slightly over the top, and fully aware of it.

The Verona Arena

And then there’s the arena. Not a venue in the modern sense — no LED walls, no overdesigned spectacle — just 2,000 years of stone, acoustics that don’t need help, and an atmosphere that does most of the heavy lifting before the first note even hits. The Verona Arena is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world, still very much in use, which feels both impressive and mildly unfair to every other venue trying their best. At night, lit against the dark sky, it becomes something else entirely—intimate and massive at the same time. So when Duran Duran step into that space, it’s not just another tour stop. It’s legacy meeting legacy, with just enough drama to make you wonder if they planned it this way all along.
