It’s clear that The Killers were heavily influenced by Duran Duran, especially by that first album and vocalist, Brandon Flowers declared himself a Duran Duran fan.  In 2009, Brandon Flowers joined Duran Duran on stage to perform Planet Earth.

Meet Mr Brightside: Brandon Flowers

Duran Duran and Brandon Flowers Beef?

The Killers’ Brandon Flowers was slated to sing Change the Skyline on the Paper Gods album. But it ended up being Jonas Bjerre, a Danish singer best known for this work with alt-rock band, Mew. He’s good, but he ain’t Mr Brightside, so what gives?

Brandon Flowers hasn’t had much to say about it, but he was also working with another band at the time, New Order. “It’s going to be tricky with the label,” said Brandon. “I’m definitely not going to be able to be on both of them.”

Brandon must’ve chosen New Order.

“We don’t talk about that,” says Simon. “We just don’t talk about it because he’s not on the record.”
