I became interested in Duran Duran in about 1982 and have followed them ever since. I love the catchy songs, exotic videos and the band members themselves. I’ve always found Duran Duran have been able to keep up and still put out great music. To me, they are and will always be GOAT.

Durangiving is the New Thanksgiving Tradition for Duranies

Durangiving: A Holiday With Heart

Move over, Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving, there’s a new holiday in town. Durangiving is all about giving back in honor of everything Duran Duran has given to us. Created by the founders of DuranDuranies.com, this compassion-driven celebration goes beyond music to make a real-world impact. It’s the ultimate fan holiday, where Duranies come together to share food, memories, and great tunes in the spirit of giving.

Held every year on November 21st—the anniversary of the release of Seven and the Ragged Tiger—Durangiving encourages fans to support charitable organizations, either through donations or volunteer hours, and help make the world a better place.

Whether you’re hosting an at-home gathering, a potluck in the park, volunteering at your local food bank, or celebrating virtually, the goal is the same: to turn our love for Duran Duran into positive action. It’s a holiday with heart, mixing Duran fandom with with acts of kindness and compassion.

Durangiving and the “Ragged Tiger”

November 21st marks the release of Seven and the Ragged Tiger—one of Duran Duran’s most iconic albums. Released in 1983, it catapulted the band to global superstardom with hits like The Reflex, New Moon On Monday, and Union of the Snake.

Seven and the Ragged Tiger explores themes of ambition, power, and the perils of fame, with the “seven” symbolizing the five band members and their two managers, and the “ragged tiger” representing the pursuit of success. Durangiving captures this spirit, as fans unite to support others who are chasing their own “ragged tiger”. Whether it’s helping the homeless find shelter, supporting efforts to combat climate change, empowering women and children through education and resources, or advocating for animal welfare, Durangiving is about coming together to make a difference.

How to Celebrate Durangiving

Here’s how to throw the perfect Durangiving dinner party:

Set the Scene:
Durangiving is all about celebrating with your closest Duranie crew. Go for a classic sit-down feast or keep it chill with a potluck or buffet, letting your guests bring their signature dishes. It’s just before Thanksgiving, so it’s okay to swap out the turkey for a juicy roast chicken or a killer lasagna. And for sides, go wild with Duran Duran-inspired dishes and drinks — think Red Carpet Mascarpone Dip and Lizard Mixture cocktails. Yes, we’re going there.

Embrace the Spirit:
No Durangiving is complete without a serious soundtrack. Curate the ultimate Duran Duran playlist—mix in some deep cuts and keep the energy high by streaming their legendary videos on your TV. As for the dress code: go full 80s New Romantic or channel the Seven and the Ragged Tiger vibe with tiger print everything. Bonus points if you dress in one of our Duran Duran-inspired costumes.

Give Back:
Durangiving is about more than just rocking and chowing down. It’s about giving back to those who need it most. Make this a night of action by asking guests to bring donations for a local food bank, pet supplies for a rescue shelter, care packages for the troops, or unwrapped toys for kids in need. The spirit of giving is what ties it all together, turning a celebration of Duran Duran into a chance to make a tangible impact on your community.

Duranies Give Back
