Hold onto your fedoras, Duranies! The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here: our favorite boys from Duran Duran dropped new music! Clear your schedule and celebrate the release day, September 13, 2024 (for those of you not paying attention, that’s Friday the 13th, because clearly Duran Duran have no chill when it comes to macabre).
The new song, “New Moon (Dark Phase)”, is a reimagined remix of “New Moon on Monday” from Seven and The Ragged Tiger.
Basically, they’re saying it again but rephrasing it… but we digress.
New Moon (Dark Phase) breathes spectral life into the fan favorite while retaining the beloved essence of the original. What makes it even more special is the reunion of the core lineup—Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor—with original guitarist (and our guitar HERO) Andy Taylor back in the fold.
The song will be featured as one of 3 new tracks on DANSE MACABRE: DE LUXE, a digital release set for October 11. DANSE MACABRE: DE LUXE will include, “New Moon (Dark Phase),” an instrumental called “Masque of the Pink Death,” and a cover of ELO’s “Evil Woman.”
The DANSE MACABRE: DE LUXE limited-edition vinyl box set features three LPs: the original 2LP Danse Macabre with 13 tracks and an additional LP with seven new tracks, including four exclusive to this set. This Halloween-themed collection also comes with a spirit board, a metal planchette, custom tarot cards, four art prints, and a booklet.
To support DANSE MACABRE, the band is kicking off a U.S. tour on October 21 in Allentown, PA, and throwing a Halloween bash at Madison Square Garden on October 31.
Celebrate by joining the global DuranDuranies release party! Don a Duran Duran-themed costume and whip up our Duran Duran themed Lizard Mixture cocktail recipe. Then, light your torch and dance on the evening tide because this new song is going to have us all La Luna’ing all night long.
