Duran Duran’s John Taylor and Juicy Couture’s Gela Nash-Taylor Stage a West Coast Exit, Sell L.A. Estate for $7.8 Million

The bassline may be fading from one more corner of Los Angeles. John Taylor, the legendary groove architect behind Duran Duran, and his wife, Gela Nash-Taylor, the entrepreneurial force who co-founded Juicy Couture and its signature velour tracksuits that defined an era, have reportedly sold their longtime L.A. residence for $7.8 million, according to Mansion Global.

The couple, who have been fixtures in the Southern California landscape since snapping up the Spanish-style villa in Outpost Estates back in 1999 for a cool $2 million, are apparently packing their bags for a move back to the U.K. (Perfecting timing for Duran’s summer 2025 European tour). The sale, brokered by Coldwell Banker Realty Beverly Hills, marks the end of a significant chapter for the pair in the Hollywood Hills.

Built in the golden age of cinema, 1931, the 6,282-square-foot abode exudes a classic Old Hollywood vibe. Think whitewashed stucco walls meeting a traditional red tile roof, while inside, dark timber floors and exposed beamed ceilings frame archways that whisper tales of Tinseltown history. The residence boasts a generous layout, including a living room with a romantic Juliet balcony, a dining space primed for power dinners (seating 14, no less), a newly revamped chef’s kitchen, four bedrooms, and a decadent seven bathrooms. The primary suite upstairs offers a sanctuary with dual sprawling closets and a stone-laden bathroom that screams rockstar chic meets fashion mogul finesse.

The nearly half-acre grounds offer a secluded retreat, shielded by mature palm trees and lush landscaping. Beyond the walls, a pool and hot tub beckon for those quintessential L.A. moments, while an outdoor kitchen complete with a bar, fireplace, and built-in banquette promises al fresco entertaining under the California stars. A distinctive turret adds a unique architectural flourish, offering versatile space with panoramic vistas stretching from the downtown skyline to the shimmering Pacific.

While the property initially hit the market with a loftier .99 million price tag, the final .8 million sale still represents a substantial appreciation for the couple’s investment over the past two decades. It’s a noteworthy exit for two figures who have left indelible marks on both the music and fashion worlds, as they trade the California sunshine for the perhaps more familiar climes of the U.K. and returning to their historic estate, South Wraxall Manor. Purchased in 2005, it offers a stark contrast to their L.A. abode. Steeped in centuries of English history, the manor provides a different kind of sanctuary – one of rolling countryside and ancient stone walls. It’s a far cry from the Hollywood Hills, suggesting a potential shift in lifestyle and priorities as these two cultural icons embark on their next chapter.
