Duran Duran at the Telegatto Awards San Remo, 1985
After four decades since their legendary debut in Italy at the Sanremo Song Festival in 1985, Duran Duran is making a triumphant return! Our favorite fellas are all set to perform at the event on February 13.
The 75th edition of the Sanremo Festival is set to run from February 11 to 15 at the Ariston Theatre.
The Sanremo Music Festival is Italy’s top song competition and the longest-running TV music show in the world. Held annually in Sanremo, Liguria, this legendary festival showcases new songs performed by some of Italy’s hottest artists. It’s also where the Italian Eurovision contender is often chosen.
Debuting in 1951, Sanremo has hosted countless iconic moments in music history, including performances by global stars like Louis Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, and Cher. Over the years, it’s launched the careers of major Italian acts like Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti, and Måneskin.
With its unique format, where songs are often sung by both Italian and international artists, the festival has seen some major twists over time, including changes to its categories and performance styles. Held at the Teatro Ariston since 1977 (except in 1990), Sanremo is a true Italian tradition that never fails to deliver surprises and unforgettable moments.
